Melanotan 2: What You Need To Know

What is Melanotan 2?
  • Melanotan is a peptide called a melanotropin peptide which is a variation of the alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. This peptide is circulated within the skin over time. Synthetic Melanotan 2 is produced to tan and darken skin without the need for excess UV exposure.
  • Melanotan 2 is concentrated and has a more potent strength than Melanotan 1. Melanotan 2 targets a higher number of melanocortin receptors. This more advanced peptide has a protective ring of amino acids, which further separates it from the linear style peptide of Melanotan 1. This difference is one that ensures better absorption into the body and, therefore, providing a better all-round tan.

The problem many people find with home tanning is that getting a full body tan requires plenty of UV ray exposure. It's a well-known fact that too many UV rays are bad for the skin and health. This is where the Melanotan 2 peptide comes in and solves all the tanning problems linked to UV exposure.
The Melanotan 2 Tanning Peptide is a type of peptide that stimulates the production of Melanin in the body. The natural production of Melanin is your body's natural response to UV damage. Its primary purpose is darkening of the skin to protect it from being damaged.

Is there a way that I can tan quicker?
  • Yes, there is. However, it gets somewhat difficult. You’ll be able to double our suggested dose up to 1MG/20IU. Or to do it properly take your bodyweight in KGS/100 = 0. MG of Melanotan 2.
  • An example would be an 80Kgs person correct dose is 0.8MG per dose/day. We tend to suggest a dose of 0.5MGs per dose/day. This should be enough.
  • If we compare your body to a sponge, it will only be able to absorb a set amount. With MellowTan, it is not a case of more is better. However, we recommend to take care as you’ll still burn under too much UV exposure. Everybody is recommended to get a base tan before prolonged exposure until UV. We tend to suggest that our consumers take a cautious approach in relation to increasing dosage.
2) Are nasal spray and injection MellowTan methods the same?
  • Yes, they’re the same base solution. However, the nasal spray application is not as effective. This is because the nasal passage only has an absorption rate of 30-50%.
  • We make our customers aware that it’ll take 2-3 times more MellowTan solution to achieve the same results in relation to the injection application.
3) My skin turned an orange colour rather than a natural tan. What can I do?
  • The solution to this issue is relatively easy to solve – you’re not receiving enough UV exposure. At MellowTan, we would recommend that you up your UV exposure and lower you Melanotan 2 dose/frequency. As in all cases, we suggest our customers take care not to burn with too much UV exposure.
  • At MellowTan, we believe in providing a tanning solution at affordable prices for customers in the UK, Ireland, and further afield. As you can see, we believe only in stocking and selling the highest-quality Melanotan 2 products.
